The tile engraves in dark gray and looks stunning against the white tile. Each set comes with (4) ceramic coasters measuring 4-1/4" square, which have felt or rubber feet attached to the bottom to prevent damaging surfaces. The final picture in this listing is a actual artist proof that would be sent back for the approval of your selections prior to the engraving process taking place.
